Project Description

Old Rectory, Worcester

This house, although not listed, had many beautiful period features, but was in need of restoring carefully, and a large job for our workshop. The first major project on this house was the windows. The stunning sash windows where still of good quality in places, so instead of being replaced, they just needed treating so they could function better. However, other windows in the property did need replacing due to rotting and falling down after many years of use. The workshop replaced these windows using certified wood, and keeping the same style as before. Internally, we replaced the old panelling which lines the hallway and stairs, and also made a stunning bespoke bookcase, with slide back doors to divide the lounge and dining room. We also made a bespoke boot cupboard in the hallway and a TV cabinet with fold back doors in the lounge. The workshop also had a tricky task to replace their front door with something in keeping to the building, and that would fit in the stone arch. We managed to come up with a bespoke oak design, so lovely that even the postman himself commented on how nice it was!
